Elementary
is an American crime series by Robert Doherty starring Jonny Lee Miller and
Lucy Liu . It is loosely based on characters and motifs of the Sherlock Holmes
stories by Arthur Conan Doyle , but differs in three essential points: It plays
in the present, in New York instead of in London and has from the figure of Dr.
med. John Watson the former surgeon dr. Joan Watson made. The first broadcast
in the US took place on 27 September 2012 by CBS, while the German-language
premiere on 10 January 2013 Sat.1started. In December 2018, CBS announced that Elementary would end after the seventh
season.
Synopsis
This is a
contemporary update of the stories of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
, in which the detective lives in the United States , specifically in the city
of New York . Elementary is starring
Jonny Lee Miller , in the role of Holmes, and Lucy Liu , in the Joan Watson.
Holmes is a disgraced Scotland Yard consultant who leaves London and settles in
Brooklyn, United States, in order to rehabilitate himself from his addiction to
illegal substances.

- There he will live with his abstinence companion, Joan Watson, a doctor with
a difficult past who with his work looks for an opportunity to help others.
Both will form a duo that will be responsible for solving crimes throughout the
city of New York.

- Holmes will also have the support of police captain Thomas' Tommy 'Gregson (
Aidan Quinn ), an experienced researcher who will assess Holmes' ability to
solve mysteries. In search of the criminals in the most important city in the
world, Holmes and Watson will learn to work together, and soon they will
discover that they need each other to overcome their problems and also the
mistakes of their past.
